FIOS Jardins Suspensos® is a Landscape Architecture and Biophilia Design company, which transforms nature into an art form, also working in indoor spaces - Biophilia.


Of the various services we provide, the ancient Japanese technique kokedama prevails, dedicated to the transformation of plants, inspired by the Wabi Sabi concept, which involves a sophisticated manual molding of the earth and its roots with a layer of moss and its wrapping with threads, the result of which is an elegant and different alternative to suspending plants.

We have workshops and team buildings using this technique that provide a unique sensory experience, knowledge sharing, and direct contact with nature.

Our biophilic concept takes inspiration from nature itself.

We create paintings and panels with high-quality preserved moss and plants, standing out for their luxurious appearance, vibrant colors and diverse textures in an abstract nature.

We can bring nature into any space without having to worry about
luminosity, aeration or irrigation. It is the dream that is now possible, for spaces that
do not meet the necessary conditions to have plants.

Our story

We are a couple and we work together on the FIOS Jardins Suspensos® project.

Our passion for plants and decorating indoor and outdoor spaces means we're always innovating and finding new, unusual ways to create harmony in your homes, commercial spaces, and events.

We believe that caring for plants brings many benefits to our minds. Caring for and working with plants brings us peace, joy, and pleasure.

After 12 years of FIOS's gradual and sustainable growth, based on a strategy of developing new markets, products, and services, the need to renew our visual identity and operational structure arose. This new structure reinforces its mission of solidarity, awareness, and involvement in key environmental, social, and economic causes:

  • Raising awareness of existing problems of integration and social inequality, through the promotion of solidarity initiatives.
  • In the permanent raising of the most demanding standards of quality and excellence of the products and services that have made us famous and that we will continue to seek to innovate in an economically and environmentally sustainable way.
  • Strengthening relationships of trust with suppliers and customers, pillars of an ecosystem whose cooperation, motivation, perseverance, and daily commitment of all its members are the foundation of our growth.

From the initial singularity, the plurality of our new identity is born…

Who are we?

  • Rui Salgado

    Landscape architect

    Rui is the pair of hands behind the most elegant kokedamas in Porto (and the country) - those of FIOS Jardins Suspensos®, a brand that was born in 2021, rebranding of the first FIU Jardins Suspensos project, born in 2012 and since then has not stopped gaining recognition.

    With a degree in Landscape Architecture, Rui is a key player in choosing the best species for the right places.

    Rui is an outgoing person with an optimistic and positive personality and a professional and dedicated attitude.

    " My desk is a bit unusual and I love it! It doesn't have pens or tablets, or paper or staplers. It does have plants (lots of plants), moss, needles, shoe thread, cotton thread, nails, pliers, brass tubes, cardboard boxes!

    "Although it's my "job", I see it more as personal therapy, which I can no longer do without, and which makes me grow a lot as a person! "

  • Telma de Gouveia

    Co-Founder & Head of Sales & Marketing & Biophilic Designer

    In mid-2018, there was a kind of “revolution” at FIOS Jardins Suspensos® with the arrival of Telma.

    He's the one behind social media and the one who answers all your emails and messages.

    Graduated in Social and Management Sciences and with a Postgraduate Degree in Human Resources Management and later training in Digital Marketing, she is a differentiator in contact with people and sales and marketing management.

    ​A native of Madeira Island, contact with plants and nature has always been part of his life.

    In recent years, he has dedicated himself to Biophilia Design projects, a new trend in decoration with nature.

    Creates living paintings/panels with preserved moss and plants. A way to bring nature into all interior spaces.

    Moss and preserved plants add life and color to any space, conveying that sense of peace and satisfaction that nature provides.

    All of our Living Pictures tell a story or are inspired by nature itself.

    Each piece is distinct and unique!
