O que fazer para que o musgo preservado perdure no tempo

What to do to make preserved moss last over time

The most frequently asked questions we get about preserved muscle are whether the muscle needs maintenance and how long it lasts.

Discover in this article all about preserved moss and how to keep it healthy andvibrant for years to come!

One of the great advantages of moss and preserved plants compared to natural plants is that they do not need water or sunlight, because they are preserved/stabilized.

Maintenance of this preserved material is ZERO!

However, to ensure your preserved moss frames/panels remain vibrant for years to come, there are a few tricks you can do to prolong and enjoy your biophilic artwork for years to come:

1. PLACE THEM IN A STRATEGIC LOCATION

90% of the lifespan of our panels/frames moss depends on where it will be placed.

The main thing to keep in mind is that pickled plants and mushrooms DO NOTlike HUMIDITY and are FOR INDOOR USE ONLY.

Normal temperature levels should be below 70-80%to keep your muscle in good condition.

Excess moisture can cause preserved plants to mold or collect water droplets and cause their natural dye to drip.

2. AVOID CONTACT WITH WATER

If you choose to install a toilet, for example, it must always be protected with glass or acrylic.

We have glass or acrylic framing solutions that protect areas close to water.

3. AVOID CONTACT WITH DIRECT SUN

This requirement is very important for the preserved muscle to last for years.

Direct sunlight damages moss:

  • Discolors and dries out the moss;
  • It completely alters the melodies and textures of the preserved moss and plants, altering the entire initial harmony of the preserved biophilic work.

The ideal is to place it in a place where there is INDIRECT natural light, or even in spaces that do not have natural light.

However, there is always a solution to prevent contact with direct sunlight, such as using curtains/blinds at that time of day when there is sun to protect.

4. DO NOT PLACE NEAR AIR CONDITIONING OR RADIATORS

It is NOT advisable to place the moss frame/panel near a radiator or air conditioneras it can alter humidity levels and cause changes in the moss and preserved plants.

5.DUST CLEANING

The preserved muscle has antistatic properties and therefore does not attract dust over the years.

However, if you want to clean it after a while, you can use a duster and wipe it with very gentle movements.

6. TOUCH GENTLY

One of the characteristics of preserved moss art is its textural and sensory aspect.

Therefore, touching and feeling the different natural textures of moss and plants is recommended.

Just be careful, as the moss and preserved plants are delicate and can be easily damaged.

7. Revitalize your preserved moss frame or panel

Some types of moss tend to discolor sooner than others because they have a natural tendency to dry out faster.

If after a few years you notice that the preserved moss or plants are starting to change, let us know and we can take care of supplying, or replacing just that area in order to keep your piece of art for longer.
