Como regar um kokedama: Dicas de Manutenção

How to Water a Kokedama: Maintenance Tips

FIOS KOKEDAMAS ARE EASY TO MAINTAIN.

They do not need special care, compared to other potted plants.

The best way to tell if a plant needs water is by its weight and by touching the moss. If the root ball feels light, it's time to water.

Another indicator is touching the moss. If the moss is still damp, it doesn't need watering. If it's dry, you should water the kokedama.

Another sign that the plant may need watering is the looseness of the wires that suspend it. Loose wires once again show that the root ball has reduced in size and may be dehydrated.

HOW TO WATER?

1. Immerse the entire plant root ball in water

2. Keep submerged for 10-15 min.

3. Drain until it stops dripping

4. Suspend again

IRRIGATION FREQUENCY VARIES BETWEEN PLANTS

You should adjust irrigation needs to the conditions in which the plant is grown. Irrigation frequency depends on the plant species and its environment:

  • More or less humid places
  • Sun exposure
  • Aeration
  • Season

FEED YOUR PLANT

You can fertilize your hanging plant with a fertilizer diluted in the irrigation water.

You must keep in mind the plant's food requirements to ensure healthy growth and not overdo the fertilizer dosage.
